Learn how different water amounts interact with pigments and how to paint in a more impressionistic style, which is easier for a beginner. Emphasis will be given on how to create luminosity using the transparent qualities and correct pigment color harmonies. Understanding light and shadow for emotional effect will be discussed and applied. We will also explore watercolor pencils, masking fluid, and the 3 most important brushes. First time I learners I will be introducing simple landscape paintings and fruit objects, it will open a whole new world of artistic beauty. For continuing students, I will present more challenging projects addressing atmosphere, light and shadow, and finally portraiture, the most challenging yet.! You will see your paintings take on a new more professional persona. At least four projects will be completed during the 9 weeks. To fully appreciate this class, a foundation in drawing is appreciated but not necessary, open to all levels.
