Intro to Pottery:

Students will learn the basics of pottery, including vocabulary, tools, types of clay, firing methods as well as gain hands-on experience with different hand-building techniques, use of molds, glazing, and decorating projects. Students will create their own unique designs and be guided through the process by the instructor. This class will also introduce the use of the potter’s wheel. Personal and group instruction is provided. Clay, use of tools, glazes and lockers are included with the materials fee.

*Please note, due to class size restrictions, returning students should register for Open Pottery Studio. This introductory class is for new students only. 

Price: $270 + $45 materials fee


Pottery Open Studio:

Experienced pottery students may work independently on advanced hand building and wheel throwing. Personal instruction is provided as needed on advanced finishing techniques like satins, underglazes, and colored slips as well as alternative firings such as raku, horsehair raku, and saggar. Clay, use of tools, glazes and lockers are included with the materials fee.

*Prerequisite: Introduction to Pottery or equivalent experience in the use of the potter's wheel, hand building, and glazing.
