2 day workshop

Date: Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20 | 11 AM - 3 PM both dates

Instructor: Milo Davis

Location: Studio 10

This is a two-part workshop where we will explore memory as a group and offer space for re-imagination or recollection of the past and remembering places and ancestors. Class participants are encouraged to attend with a family photo album, or a collection of photographs (digital or otherwise) they would like to reference during the duration of the workshop. This workshop requires beginning to intermediate experience in drawing and intermediate experience with acrylic paints, such as mixing, seeing, and understanding values. Tracing paper will be provided to participants to accommodate all levels of drawing experience.
In the first workshop, we will be sketching an image, referencing multiple points of reference (for example, a location of significance, a childhood photo of the artist, and a photo of an ancestor) or referencing a single photo/image and transferring it onto a 9x12” canvas or paper. In the following workshop, participants will use provided materials of their choice to study their selected image.

Materials that will be provided:
Canvas/Paper
Colored pencil
Charcoal pencil
Matte medium
Charcoal
Winsor & Newton/Gamblin oil paint
Liquitex Acrylic paint
Liquin/Linseed oil

$160 + $25 material fees.  Material fees must be paid in cash directly to the instructor and are due on the day of the workshop
