Date: Sundays, July 13 - August 17 | 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Instructor: Brian Angeloff

Location: The Cottage at Lake Lily

In this 6-week course students will learn the basics of sculpting with various mediums of clay such as Alien Clay(hard oil-based), Sculptex  (soft oil based), and Wed clay (water-based).  These sculptures will all be a form of bas-relief. Students get to keep 1 wedge of Alien Clay and a brick of Sculptex clay.

The first 3 days will be introductions to the 3 styles of clay, which will begin with a fun 5 minute sculpt of a random object of my choosing. Once they get the feel of the clay I will teach a follow-along each day such as a bird’s wing, a reptile head, and a skull.Subject to change each seasonal class.

Day 4 I will demonstrate how to make a mold box, mix and pour the silicone properly, followed by a demo of casting a two-part plastic, using multiple casting color powders. I will also give a quick painting demo.

Day 5 students will have final sculpt ready to mold within the specific boundaries given. They will make the mold walls, mix silicone and pour.

Day 6 will be the students’ plastic castings, using the color powders and base color to add to the plastic. By the end of the class, the students will be able to take home their molds plus 2 castings.

Cost: $250 + $70 material fees.  Material fees must be paid in cash directly to the instructor, and are due on the day of the workshop
